Arriving by air? The best airport is probably Richmond (RIC) although sometimes people do manage to fly into Charlottesville (CHO).

Both Richmond and Charlottesville are also served by Amtrak and Greyhound.

Getting to the Yanceyville Church and Twin Oaks by car

If you want to use a service like Google Maps, the address for the Yanceyville Church is 594 Yanceyville Road, Louisa VA 23093, and the address for Twin Oaks is 138 Twin Oaks Road, Louisa VA 23093. Please note that online map services often show Tupelo Ridge Road to be a through road from Old Mountain Road to Vigor Road; it's not, you have to come to Twin Oaks by the Vigor Road side.

Directions from Washington DC and points north

From Washington take I-95S past Fredricksburg to Thornburg exit 118 (there is a McDonald's at this exit). Turn right off Thornburg exit onto Rt 606. Follow Rt 606 through Snell to where it merges with Va 208. Follow Va 208 West for 19 miles. Turn left onto US 522/Va 208. Follow US 522 to and through Mineral. Traveling south on US 522: 2.2 miles past Mineral, turn right onto Willis Proffit Rd (Rt 605 South) (This becomes Shannon Hill Rd). Follow Shannon Hill Rd (Rt 605) for 6.6 miles. Turn right onto Yanceyville Rd (Rt 646). There is a white fence at this corner.

From North/West: take I-81S to I-64E. Take I-64E through Charlottesville toward Richmond. Take the Shannon Hill exit (exit 148, Shannon Hill Rd, Rt 605). Turn left onto Shannon Hill Rd (Rt 605). Follow Shannon Hill Rd (Rt 605) north for 4.2 miles. Turn left onto Yanceyville Rd (Rt 646). There is a white fence at this corner.

then

Follow Yanceyville Rd (Rt 646) for 1 mile. The Yanceyville church will be on your right.

Directions from points south, east, or west:

From South/East take I-95 N or I-64 W to Richmond. Take I-64 W towards Charlottesville. Exit at Shannon Hill (exit 148, Shannon Hill Rd, Rt 605). Turn right onto Shannon Hill Rd (Rt 605).

or

From South/West take I-81 N to I-64 E: Take I-64 E through Charlottesville toward Richmond. Exit at Shannon Hill (exit 148, Shannon Hill Rd, Rt 605). Turn left onto Shannon Hill Rd (Rt 605).

then

Follow Shannon Hill Rd (Rt 605) north for 4.2 miles. Turn left onto Yanceyville Rd (Rt 646). There is a white fence at this corner. Follow Yanceyville Rd (646) for 1 mile. The Yanceyville Chruch will be on your right.

To continue on to Twin Oaks for the reception:

Just before the bridge, turn left onto Vigor Rd (Rt 697). Drive for about 1/4 mile on Vigor Rd (697). At the second driveway on the left (Twin Oaks Rd) is a sign saying "Twin Oaks Community". Park on the field on the right, then follow the signs to Kaweah.
